Privacy and confidentiality are at the heart of the service provided. Clients are welcome to bring friends or family members along for support. We fully understand that some people find it useful to bring someone with them to help them with choosing their wig.
We also make it our priority to not keep patients on a long waiting list for an appointment as we understand the urgency of some appointments and we are prepared to do home visits on request.
Therese researches and sources wigs from around the world. She travels extensively, to ensure that she keeps on top of the current trends. In the past she has been to China, London, America, Germany and Thailand. She also designs an innovative range of wigs for her own Tresses brand which are custom made to ensure that every client has the widest choice to choose from..
There are various styles available and patients can choose a style and colour to suit them. The cosmetician will make every effort to match colour and style to their own hair. All of the staff are very experienced in providing this service and can also advise patients on how best to style and care for their wig. In addition to providing the wig Therese and her staff will remove the patients own hair and fit the wig for them, cutting and shaping the wig to fit the individual patient’s requirements.
Therese and her staff are very skilled in this field of work - including some qualified hairdressers. Their qualifications include diplomas in cutting and styling of wigs, taking moulds of people’s heads, designing a wig from taking a head measurement, making a mould, working out the density of the hair to the very way the hair would fall from the parting. They also completed the Trevor Sorbie, ‘Cutting and styling of wigs’ course. Also Therese has undergone the ‘Macmillan Cancer Support Certificate’ developing her knowledge and skills in psycho-oncology.
